Most home and small businesses do not use a proxy server to access the internet, so if your computer keeps asking for one, here\u2019s how to disable it.<\/p>\n

Open the Control Panel<\/p>\n

In Windows 10, you may need to go to Cortana on the task bar and type in Control Panel, or press W + R and type Control Panel<\/p>\n

Click on\u00a0Internet Options<\/em><\/p>\n

When the new window opens, click on the\u00a0Connections<\/em>\u00a0tab<\/p>\n

Then click on the\u00a0LAN Settings<\/em>\u00a0button<\/p>\n

Make sure the box that says\u00a0Use a proxy server for your LAN<\/em>\u00a0is not ticked.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s ok to leave\u00a0Automatically detect settings<\/em>\u00a0ticked at the top of the window, but you may want to check that\u00a0Use automatic configuration script<\/em>\u00a0is not ticked.<\/p>\n

Press OK to close this window, and OK to close the Internet Options window.<\/p>\n
